Joint Theraphy

Healthy joints are an indication of ageing gracefully. The following simple exercises when done every day will ensure that your joints are healthy for the rest of your life.

  1. Neck rotation - 5 clockwise and 5 anti-clockwise.
    *If you have cervical issues, do not stretch your chin down.
  2. Shoulder rotation: Place your finger-tips on your shoulders and make big circles with the elbows - 5 clockwise and 5 anti-clockwise.

  4. Hip rotation: Stand with your feet slightly wider than the hip. Place your palms on the waist and rotate your hip - 5 clockwise and 5 anti-clockwise.
  5. Wrist rotation and stretch :
    • Make fists with both your hands. Rotate the wrist joint-5 clockwise and 5 anti-clockwise.
    • Using one hand stretch the fingers of the other hand inward , palm facing out. Repeat for the other hand.
    • Using one hand stretch the fingers of the other hand inward , palm facing in. Repeat for the other hand.

  7. Sit with your legs straight. Palms placed beside the hip.
    • Ankle rotation and stretch:
      • stretch your toes out and in towards the knees alternately.
      • rotate the ankle joint 5 times in both directions
    • Knee strengthening:
      • Bend your right knee and interlock your fingers below the right thigh for support. Now, straighten and bend the same leg alternately 5-10 times. Repeat with the left leg.
      • Bend your right knee and interlock your fingers below the right thigh for support. Now, keeping your thigh steady, make big circles with the lower leg. You only have to move from the knee joint. After 5-7 circles, reverse direction. Repeat with the left leg.

I want to lose weight. I find stretching classes unproductive.

Becoming flexible will actually help you lose weight. Flexibility will improve the quality of your workout and will make you get rid of fat faster. Besides, stretching also allows muscle-recovery and repair to prepare you for more intense workouts.

I got muscle pain after my first class. What should I do?

It is normal to get muscle soreness if you are not physically active and attend your first session with us. It only means you have worked on muscles that you have not used before. DO NOT miss your next class! Go slow for the next 3-4 sessions till the pain goes, and start pushing yourself a bit further after that.

I find the classes too vigorous. What should I do?

Our fitness capsules are designed to transform you completely. The classes, although dynamic, will be completely safe and gentle on your joints. Your trainer, or Specialist, as we call them, will encourage you to move at your own pace initially. You will always go home feeling good. Once our yoga becomes a part of your system, you will see yourself changing very fast!

Do I have to bring my own yoga mat to class?

You will find mats in the studio, which are cleaned after every class. Still, you are free to get your own mats to class.
